CONSERVATION ALERT: Tell MFWP Not to Over-Develop Fish Cr. State Park

Thanks to all who commented to MFWP by 2/7/14

The Parks Division of Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks recently released a draft management plan for Fish Creek State Park on the Clark Fork River. A 35,000-acre Wildlife Management Area surrounds the park on three sides. Much of the park and surrounding WMA is critical migratory habitat and winter range for elk and deer, and Fish Creek is the most important tributary for migratory cutthroat and bull trout in the middle Clark Fork.

Some of the developments Montana FWP are proposing in the plan include a 40-60 unit RV-friendly campground with full hookups and a trail system with rental huts for off-road vehicles, hikers and mountain bikers.
