Montana Trout Unlimited strives to protect high-quality fish habitat and to restore degraded streams and watersheds. Some of our recent accomplishments include:
- Funding or helping TU chapters tackle habitat improvement projects on tributaries of the Madison, Missouri, Big Hole and Bitterroot rivers.
- Taking a leading role in a coalition of agencies and organizations to prevent introduction and spread of aquatic invasive species by employing watercraft-inspection stations and a rapid-response program for eradication of new invaders.
- Working with local government and other conservationists to persuade EPA to designate a pulp mill site in Frenchtown for Superfund clean up – an action necessary to reduce pollutants in the Clark Fork River and protect its fish.
