Montana TU’s Tip of the Hat fundraiser is back!
In 2016, Montana outfitters Brian Neilsen and Tim Linehan had a cool idea to support conservation: fishing guides and outfitters across Montana could pledge to donate their gratuity from one day to further MTU’s mission: to conserve, protect, and restore our coldwater fisheries. With low water and COVID-19 creating tough working conditions for our outfitting community, it’s been several year’s since the last TOTH, but it’s back for 2022!
Tip of the Hat officially takes place on June 21, 2022, but guides and outfitters can choose any day of the season to donate.
If you’re a licensed guide who’d like to participate, sign up on our Google Form here and talk to your outfitter. If you’d like to be a client angler for the day, contact Bill Pfeiffer at firstname.lastname@example.org for a list of participating outfitters, or encourage your favorite guide service to join us!
This year, we’ll once again meet some of our participating guides and outfitters at the Craig FAS on the Missouri River at 5pm on June 21, to celebrate a great day on the water with food and beverages. We’re hoping to have similar events around the state. To help host a Tip of the Hat event, contact us.
