This morning the Notice of Intent (NOI) to rescind the 2001 Roadless Area Conservation Rule was published in the federal register. This means that 45 million acres of National Forests—70 percent of which are home to native trout—may lose protection. It also means that you have an opportunity to do something about it. Important Westslope cutthroat and bull trout habitat in the Clark Fork, not to mention many of the headwaters of our world-famous trout streams are under threat.

We have 21 days to make our voices heard. Submit a public comment today to help safeguard Roadless Areas. Link in our bio.

On Friday @montanafwp made the necessary decision On Friday @montanafwp made the necessary decision to close the Big Hole and Jefferson rivers to all angling until water flows and drought conditions improve. Due to the pressure these wild trout populations have been under, we support this move and are hoping for cooler, wetter weather soon. Remember to check the Waterbody Restrictions page before you fish. Link in our LinkTree in our bio.
